It can be hard to think that someone you know or are close to could be involved in something that may hurt or kill people. But there’s plenty you can do to help them and help entire communities.

 

What can you do?

It can be incredibly dangerous getting mixed up in violent extremist activity. If you think they will listen, talk to them, try to persuade them that they should think about what they’re doing or encourage them to talk to someone such as:

  • their parents, teacher or other responsible adult
  • a professional at ChildLine who can offer help and advice in confidence.

If you don’t think they’ll listen to you, talk to someone yourself - such as your own parents or other family member.

Every local community in London has a Local Policing Team which is a team of local police officers who can help to deal with local problems. They can be contacted on 101 or through www.met.police.uk.
