Feel like it’s not working out?

Relationships come in all shapes and sizes, and they all have their ups and downs. Some only last a short time, while others can be long term. But sometimes in a relationship one or both people realise, that for any number of different reasons, it just isn’t working out. Ending a relationship is often very difficult for both people, particularly if you care about the other person’s feelings. Being on the receiving end of a break-up can feel even more heart-breaking.

Need to end it?

If you’re unhappy in a relationship, remember your feelings count, and it’s your responsibility to say so. It may feel kinder to let things go on but in the long run the other person may end up being more hurt. So choose a good time to tell the person. It may be that a quiet space is best, or that having other people around may work better. Try to treat them the same way you would like to be treated if you were in their shoes.
