What is a ‘global citizen’?
Research
Ö
Recently, over 20,000 people from 18 countries took part in
a poll which discovered that more and more people now
identify themselves as global citizens rather than citizens
of their country. In pairs, create a questionnaire to find
out whether people in your area feel this way. Distribute
your questionnaire to family and friends then write a brief
summary of your findings. Include graphs to demonstrate
your results.
Ö
Research some local volunteering schemes in your area
and choose one you find particularly interesting. Create
a PowerPoint presentation about this scheme, aimed
at persuading people to take part. Then perform your
presentation for your class (it should be no more than three
minutes long).

be ‘typically’ or ‘quintessentially’ British.
