Physical abuse includes:
- Hitting you
- Biting you
- Strangling you
- Kicking you.
Sexual abuse:
- Forcing you to have sex
- Touching you
- Making you do things you don’t want to
- Not allowing you to take contraception
- Forcing you to look at or watch graphic materials.
Emotional or psychological abuse:
- Constantly checking up on you by phone or text
- Calling you names
- Putting you down
- Humiliating you
- Making you feel guilty or bad about yourself
- Threatening to take your children away
- Using your children to relay messages.
Financial abuse:
- Taking your money
- Taking your benefits
- Monitoring what you spend.
Social abuse:
- Stopping you from seeing your friends or family
- Stopping you from contacting your friends or family
- Checking your phone or text messages.
