When it comes to mental health, the more people that speak about their experiences, the better. 

Unfortunately stigma is still a huge issue in society, affecting nine in ten people with mental health problems. However, as with all things in society, attitudes have the ability change. 

Here, we highlight 17 famous people who are helping to slowly chip away at stigma by publicly speaking about mental health.

Demi Lovato, 24

Demi Lovato spoke about her bipolar disorder diagnosis as part of a campaign for mental health group Be Vocal.
