The war on terror. A phrase forever in the media and on our lips. Its very ubiquity helps obscure the reality of that war.
America, according to a new study from Brown University, is running counter-terror operations in 76 countries – 39% of all the nations in the world.
Since 2001, at least half-a-million people have been killed in wars in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq alone. The real figure is likely to be far higher.
