Climate change, urban development, air pollution, and intensive farming have all taken their toll on wildlife. Whether it’s plastic bags or pesticides, every technological advance seems to come with a price paid by animals and plants.
One recent report, by the United Nations, warned that a million species are at risk of extinction because of the actions of people.
Such reports – and there are plenty – can create a sense of helplessness.
Nevertheless, there are ways that each of us can make a difference without having to transform into an all-or-nothing eco-warrior.
